Celebrating its 25th "fun-packed issue," this 1953 Harvey Comics entry finds the long-suffering Sad Sack hunched under the weight of his oversized duffel bag — labeled with his name and serial number — while a chaotic pile of stray dogs scrambles gleefully on top of it, with even more mutts bounding in from behind. The cover banner announces "Back in the Army Again!," setting a perfectly ironic tone for the hapless hero stumbling forward, leash in hand and expression in full defeat. George Baker's cartooning is warm and wonderfully expressive, wringing every drop of good-natured humor from the Sack's perpetual misfortune.
