Harvey's long-running army comedy series delivers another dose of military misadventure with this January 1964 issue, cover-priced at just 12 cents. George Baker's cover finds the hapless Sad Sack standing dazed amid a field of tall grass, stars spinning around his feet, while a smug sergeant and a wary fellow soldier look on — and a rhinoceros lurks menacingly at the left, apparently the source of the chaos. It's the kind of wonderfully absurd situation Baker drew with such easy charm, and the tagline "Loved by Millions" feels entirely earned.
