Sad Sack Comics #138

Harvey Comics' long-running army comedy series is in fine form with this 1963 entry, cover by George Baker. The hapless Sad Sack frantically scrubs and polishes the bare feet of a laughing, bare-chested superior officer lounging in a folding chair — shoe-shining brushes, a tin of polish, and a trusty little dog named Mutsy scattered around the floor completing the cheerfully chaotic scene. It's the kind of gentle, good-natured military humor that earned this series its "Loved by Millions" tagline, and it's easy to see why.
