Harvey's long-running military comedy series delivers another dose of slapstick chaos in this June 1962 issue, with George Baker's cover showing a red-uniformed sergeant recoiling as a window shatters dramatically around him — flying glass and puffs of smoke everywhere — while a wide-eyed civilian leans out in alarm and little dog Muttsty watches the whole mess from below. The tagline "Loved by Millions" says it all: Sad Sack's gentle, bumbling world of army-life misadventure had clearly won over a devoted readership by this point. At just 12 cents, this was an affordable laugh for anyone who appreciated Baker's wonderfully expressive cartooning.
