Poor Sad Sack can't catch a break — on George Baker's cover for this October 1960 Harvey issue, our hapless hero wades through a river with a duck perched absurdly on his hat, arrows zipping in from every direction, while his sergeant and a small dog follow behind with considerably less chaos surrounding them. It's the kind of perfectly timed comedic disaster that made this series a favorite with readers, and the tagline "Loved by Millions" feels entirely earned.
