Rumble #6
James Harren's cover for this sixth issue of Image's Rumble is a striking, off-kilter image: a large pelican wearing ragged trousers stands in a debris-strewn urban wasteland, a sword jutting improbably from its head, while a small dark figure with glowing white eyes lurks in the shadow behind it — with a body half-buried in the muck and a burning city skyline smoldering in the distance. It's the kind of deeply weird, lived-in visual that makes Rumble so compelling, blending mythology and grime into something that feels entirely its own. Dave Stewart's fiery amber and red palette gives the whole scene a smoky, end-of-days atmosphere that's hard to look away from.
