This 1961 Dell issue finds Roy Rogers and a young companion crouched together in tense alertness — Roy with revolver drawn, both in cowboy hats, clearly taking cover as they watch for trouble. The cover teases a journey into Mexico where Roy and Dusty stumble upon a lost silver mine with "strange guardians," setting up Gaylord Du Bois and Nat Edson's "Guardians of the Canyon" with plenty of western intrigue. A Big Dell Comics Contest announcement adds a little extra excitement for readers picking this one up off the spinner rack.
