Rookie Cop #27
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis Charlton gem from 1955 puts community policing front and center, as a uniformed officer addresses a group of eager young kids through a P.A.L. (Police Athletic League) program, asking "Can any of you boys identify this man?" while a projected image shows a shadowy suspect loading something from a laundry truck under the cover of darkness. Bill Molno's pencils and Vince Alascia's inks give the cover a crisp, earnest energy — the boys leaning in with rapt attention perfectly captures that mid-1950s spirit of kids and cops working together. Issue #27 of Rookie Cop is a fine snapshot of Charlton's street-level crime storytelling at its most approachable.
