The issue contains two stories. "Daddy's Girl" depicts a young woman torn between her disapproving father and the man she loves; after initially planning to run away with her boyfriend Joe, she ultimately confesses the truth to her father, who eventually accepts her choice and blesses the couple's reconciliation. "The Man Next Door" follows a married couple, Ginny and Les, whose relationship deteriorates due to financial strain and constant arguing about money; after Les suggests opening a small hardware store and Ginny initially resists, Don (presumably a neighbor or friend) becomes involved in their marital troubles, but the couple ultimately reconciles when they realize how much they need each other and decide to make a fresh start together.
