When Connie gets an accidental break on radio, Brad tries to play the lonely role as husband of a celebrity wife. He follows Connie to New York, but it's the final straw when she forgets their wedding anniversary. Connie promises to change, but it makes little difference and Brad returns to Greenport. At a weekend with her happily-married manager Alex and his former celebrity wife Doris, Connie emotionally sees what she's missing. She realizes "that a husband and wife in love, in their own home, are the very essence of a happy marriage and a happy life."
