Cindy is exploited as an unpaid housekeeper by her two older sisters. Her friend Mrs. Kelly, a housekeeper for a wealthy couple, gives Cindy an invitation to the Press Photographer’s Ball and has her absent employer’s chauffeur drive her to the event. Cindy is warned she must leave the ball no later than midnight to return the clothes she’s borrowed before the owners get home. Cindy meets film executive Clark at the ball but gives him a false name and runs away at midnight. He tracks her down and proposes marriage: she accepts.
