While housesitting for relatives, Clancy has an encounter with a thief who has been robbing houses of silver throughout the district. Being choked, she is about to lose consciousness when she is saved by her relatives' dog. After reporting the incident to the police, she meets a crime reporter for a local newspaper. She's sees him frequently in the following days, but she thinks he is more interested in his story than in her. Meanwhile, the thief has not given up his plans to rob the silver in her house.
