He explains he followed a sign warning patrons to keep an eye on their hats, but despite watching his hat, someone still took his beans while he waited.

Sheriff Sam is summoned to Old Man Brown’s deathbed—only to find Brown very much alive, having faked his demise to sell him colorful horseshoes as a fashion statement. After being dragged into a clothing store by the eccentric merchant, the sheriff is pressured into trying out outrageous outfits, including one that eliminates the need for pants, leaving him increasingly exasperated. As the shopkeeper pushes more ridiculous items, the Sheriff vows to return—this time, not as a customer, but as a prisoner.

Ambling Andy throws a party and hesitates about inviting the town's most aloof snob, John Burgess, but decides to include him anyway. Burgess dismisses Andy as beneath him, only to be stunned when Andy delivers a sharp, unexpected retort that leaves him speechless.

Rod Cameron, after purchasing a decorated bridle from the Concha Kid, becomes entangled in a murder mystery when a dying diamond merchant is found near town, his fortune in gems missing. As the sheriff rounds up suspects and searches the town, Rod notices his horse War Paint behaving strangely, leading him to suspect the Concha Kid is behind the crime. The mystery deepens when Rod uncovers the diamonds hidden in the bridle’s silver conchas, revealing the Concha Kid’s elaborate scheme.
