Rocky Lane investigates the disappearance of bank money stolen by outlaw Red Carter, who has fled town leaving a trail for Rocky to follow. Rocky discovers Carter hiding at a nearby ranch house and attempts to arrest him, but Carter escapes and Rocky pursues him. Rocky eventually confronts Carter and a group of outlaws, leading to a climactic negotiation where Rocky offers to trade stolen money and his horse Black Jack in exchange for the outlaw's life, ultimately securing the return of the funds and the capture of the criminals.
