Rocket Raccoon #2
The second chapter of Rocket Raccoon's 1985 four-issue Marvel limited series delivers a cover that crackles with wild energy — Mike Mignola and Al Gordon put Rocket front and center, weapon raised as a massive winged creature looms over him with snapping jaws, while a rabbit companion in battle gear and a menacing clown on a unicycle round out this wonderfully bizarre scene. Bill Mantlo's story, titled "The Masque of the Red Breath," promises the same offbeat sci-fi adventure the series has been building. It's a genuinely fun snapshot of mid-'80s Marvel doing something delightfully unlike anything else on the stands.
