Robin finds himself cornered against a graffiti-tagged brick wall in this June 2000 issue, surrounded by a swarm of snarling, bat-winged creatures closing in from every direction — one lunging from above, another grasping from the side, and a smaller one clutching at his legs. The cover by Pete Woods and Jesse Delperdang packs real menace into the scene, with Robin standing his ground in a wide fighting stance, cape billowing, looking outmatched but unbroken. "Dark Is the Night" promises exactly the kind of gritty, street-level tension that Chuck Dixon does so well.
