“Last Gasps”

Robin #5 finds Tim Drake in a genuinely desperate spot — trapped behind a bolted porthole or hatch as a massive surge of mud and debris threatens to swallow him whole, his gloved hand stretched outward in a frantic plea for escape. The cover by Tom Grummett and Ray Kryssing makes excellent use of dynamic perspective, pulling the reader right into the chaos swirling around the young hero. Chuck Dixon's "Last Gasps" promises the kind of high-stakes, claustrophobic tension that makes this 1994 solo series such a compelling showcase for Gotham's Boy Wonder.
