Amid the mundane line, he encounters a lineup of famous superheroes, each more bizarre than the last, in a satirical twist on the genre. Written and illustrated by Gilbert Shelton, with full creative control across pencils, inks, and letters, the issue's chaotic energy is matched by a cover featuring collaborative art by Shelton, Ted Richards, Frank Stack, and Dave Sheridan, with inks by the same team.
