Ringside #2
The contrast between these two figures says everything about Ringside's world: in the foreground, a massive, grey-clad man sits hunched and dejected, head buried in his hand, while above him a triumphant masked wrestler raises his arms in victory atop a turnbuckle, championship belt gleaming. Joe Keatinge and Nick Barber's series clearly has a lot to say about glory and its absence — the weight of that gap between winner and the man kneeling in the dust is palpable right here on the cover. Simon Gough's muted palette against those warm golden tones makes this one of the more quietly striking wrestling comics Image put out in 2015.
