Rick and Morty Go to Hell #5
In "Rick and Morty Go to Hell: Chapter Five," Morty finally gets his chance to plead his case before Satan himself—judge, jury, and all—after surviving a trial that only six others have ever lived through. With Satan presenting a long list of interdimensional misdeeds, Morty takes the stand in a bold, unfiltered defense that fills sixteen full-page balloons, his voice rising in fury and disbelief. Written by Ryan Ferrier and brought to life with sharp, expressive art by Constanza Oroza—pencils, inks, and cover all by her—this issue delivers a surprisingly heartfelt courtroom showdown in the afterlife, with Sarah Stern’s colors and Crank!’s lettering adding punch to every panel.

For having survived all his challenges, a feat previously accomplished by only six individuals, Morty wins the unique opportunity to appeal his sentence to eternal damnation in Hell directly to Satan. Satan, with glasses and a judge's wig, prosecutes a laundry list of criminal charges and acts allegedly committed by Morty over the many adventures in different galaxies and dimensions while the boy traveled with Rick. Angry and fed up Morty responds and refutes Satan's charges in a full-page, full-throated defense over sixteen uninterrupted, uncharacteristic but satisfying, dialogue balloons.
