“A Stupid Escape”

Even a billionaire kid has to improvise when it's raining outside — on Ken Selig's cover for this milestone 250th issue, Richie Rich cheerfully uses a VHS-powered heating device as a makeshift campfire while his soaked pals huddle together under a colorful tent, logs sputtering in the downpour all around them. It's a perfectly charming snapshot of Harvey Comics' brand of gentle, kid-friendly comedy, and the promise of "pages and pages of comic hi-jinks" inside feels entirely earned.

The Kamikaze Krooks continue their attempts to rob the Rich eatate. Shoo-Pie, who can walk on the ceiling, is also a failure after Irona discovers a cobweb on a pillar where the crook is from behind and swats the crook out the window. The ultimate weapon is a tough guy, but he is attracted to a cake which Chef Pierre baked, and he devours the whole cake and gets sick because Pierre had made the cake with plaster instead of flour, and Nurse Jenny took him in the private clinic. After repeated failures, the W.W.C.A. is now closed for good as the Riches return to Richville.
