This 2005 DC series takes Richard Dragon to some genuinely dark places, and issue #10's cover — penciled by Scott McDaniel and inked by Andy Owens — captures that intensity perfectly. A battered, bloodied Dragon is impaled on a massive spike or blade wielded by an enormous, monstrous foe, his body suspended helplessly above what appears to be a hellish crimson landscape. The tagline "Goes to Hell!" leaves little ambiguity about the dire straits awaiting readers inside, with writer Chuck Dixon and artist Brad Walker delivering the fourth chapter of "Out of the Past.
