Part three of "Avenging Angels" arrives with a cover that crackles with urgency — Supergirl, wreathed in blazing golden wings, strains to haul a silver-drenched, agonized figure skyward while a desperate man in a suit scrambles nearby on a stormy beach. Butch Guice's painted cover work gives the whole scene a moody, cinematic weight that suits the soul-in-peril stakes spelled out right on the cover: "Can Supergirl Save His Soul?!" This 1998 chapter from Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning's run on Resurrection Man is a fine example of the series blending superhero spectacle with something genuinely unsettling.
