Resident Evil: Fire and Ice #2

Part two of WildStorm's four-issue Resident Evil: Fire and Ice miniseries delivers a tense cover by Lee Bermejo — a red-haired woman raises a pistol while a male companion below her aims a heavy, flame-equipped weapon, both of them bracing against the looming presence of a grotesque, mutated creature hulking in the background. The composition does a fine job of capturing the series' survival-horror stakes, with the two armed figures looking determined but clearly outmatched by what's closing in on them. Writers Ted Adams and Kris Oprisko, alongside artists Shawn Crystal and Bermejo, keep this mature-readers Resident Evil story moving through its second chapter.
