Mordecai and Rigby stand at the base of an awe-inspiring crystal palace — its towering spires catching a vivid rainbow arc across a dreamy, cloud-filled sky — and the stakes feel genuinely enormous for two park workers who probably just wanted a normal day. This 2016 BOOM! Studios release, with cover art by Jeremy De La Garza, arrives at the penultimate chapter of "Crystal Catastrophe," and the sense of wonder on that cover makes it easy to see why the story has stretched to four parts. If you've been following Mordecai and Rigby's increasingly surreal adventures in this run, issue #31 is a satisfying visual promise of what's waiting at the top of those steps.
