Cullen Bunn and Danny Luckert's psychological horror series reaches its fifth installment with a cover that demands a second look — a two-faced figure, one side young and one side grotesquely aged, rises from a throne of bone and flame while massive horns crown the composition and four solitary figures stand sentinel on winding staircases above. Marie Enger's muted, sepia-toned palette gives the whole image a bleached, unsettling quality that perfectly suits the series' themes of fractured identity and past lives bleeding into the present. If this cover is any measure, Regression #5 is exactly where this 2017 Image series earns its creeping dread.
