Reggie Mantle is up to his usual scheming in this 1976 installment of Reggie and Me, and the cover says it all — he's in an antique clock shop, proudly holding a cuckoo clock while Veronica asks why on earth he's buying it, and his smirking reply makes clear it's a pointed dig at Archie. Meanwhile, a delighted Betty looks on from the foreground as the clock chimes "CUCKOO! CUCKOO!" — timing Reggie's pettiness perfectly. It's a wonderfully compact slice of Riverdale rivalry, dressed in peak '70s fashion and wrapped around a story cheekily titled "The Unkindest Cut.
