Reggie Mantle has never looked quite so worse for wear — the cover of this 1965 Archie Series issue finds him tangled up in a large red buoy, dazed and dripping while a yellow speedboat carrying Betty and another passenger zips past, leaving a wake of chaos behind them. Betty's question — "Did we just pass a red buoy?" — is answered with a rueful "(Gulp) It's a black and blue boy!" The setup for "Double Trouble Cross" promises the kind of slapstick mischief that made Reggie's solo title such a fun corner of the Archie universe.
