Sonja is captured by Sharlo to give as a sacrifice to the three dead kings who are vampires. Sonja meets Lord Flurdelie, Sharlo's father, who previously served the dead kings until Sharlo betrayed him. Sonja slays Sharlo. Lord Fluderlie attacks her, she sets him on fire, and as he dies the three dead vampire kings turn to ash.
