After the massacre of Prophetstown, Tenskwa-Tawa renders his judgement on the perpetrators. Off in the hills, Ta-Kumsaw feels the death of his people and vows revenge. Taleswapper also experiences Alvin's vision of the massacre. Taleswapper persuades Ta-Kumsaw to help him find Alvin. They find him nearly dead and nurse him back to consciousness. Alvin relates to them the massacre and the judgement. Ta- Kumsaw sets off to take his vengeance.
