Part of the sprawling "Godhead" crossover event, this New 52 chapter pits a Green Lantern — ring blazing with emerald energy — face-to-face with a feral, red-suited Red Lantern in what looks like a tense standoff framed through a circular hatch, with weapon barrels looming in the foreground. Scott Hepburn and Gabe Eltaeb's cover composition uses that tight, porthole-like framing to ratchet up the confrontational tension between the two ring-wielders beautifully. Charles Soule and J. Calafiore bring their signature edge to "Forged in Blood," and with Act 3, Part 4 of Godhead in full swing, the stakes between the Lantern Corps couldn't feel higher.
