Red Lanterns #3

Part of DC's New 52 relaunch, Red Lanterns #3 arrives in January 2012 with a cover by Ed Benes and Rob Hunter that wastes no time announcing the series' visceral tone. A female Red Lantern in her crimson uniform is pinned against a blood-soaked surface, her bat-winged mask prominent as streams of red cascade around her — it's a striking, unsettling image that makes clear this corner of the DC Universe runs on rage and pain. Peter Milligan's "Higher Consciousness" promises to dig deeper into what it means to wield a ring fueled by fury.
