Red Hood and the Outlaws: Futures End #1
Part of DC's sweeping 2014 "Futures End" event, this one-shot drops into a tense future where the Outlaws are clearly not playing nice with each other. The cover by Giuseppe Camuncoli and Cam Smith frames a dramatic standoff aboard what appears to be a space station, with an archer squaring off against a blue-clad figure in a crackling burst of energy while a fiery-haired woman with a staff watches from above, explosions lighting the sky behind her. Scott Lobdell writes, with Scott Kolins handling both pencils and inks on interiors, making this a sharply focused, self-contained chapter in the lives of these complicated antiheroes.
