Real Screen Comics #62

A dime well spent — or is it? This May 1953 DC funny-animal gem features the Fox delightedly cradling an enormous egg he's just bought from the Crow for only ten cents, blissfully unaware that a very agitated ostrich is charging up behind him. The Crow, looking impressively pleased with himself in his little hat, slinks away at the bottom of the cover as the gag unfolds beautifully. Real Screen Comics #62 is a wonderful slice of mid-century cartoon humor that proves the Fox's bargain instincts might need a little fine-tuning.
