Mindy works as a baby-sitter in the evenings. One of her clients is Fran, a widow, who has many dates with handsome men. Mindy discovers Fran is answering “lonely hearts” advertisements, and when Kirk arrives looking for Fran, Mindy thinks he’s one of Fran's correspondents. Kirk and Mindy fall in love, but he won’t tell her why he came to Fran’s house. He eventually explains: Fran isn’t a widow and has been blackmailing her “lonely hearts” clients – Kirk is an investigator from the District Attorney’s office. Fran is arrested. Kirk and Mindy can now be happy together.
