This anthology issue contains multiple historical biographical stories. One story depicts Benito Juárez's struggle against Mexican dictatorship, showing how he inspired an army revolt and, following Santa Anna's banishment, eventually became president while planning to rescue General Alvarez. Another story recounts the exploits of Barbary corsairs and pirates off the Spanish coast, featuring men captured and sold into slavery to Dalli Mami, a Greek renegade in Algiers, with one captive attempting an elaborate escape plan involving ransom negotiations for Miguel Cervantes. A third story, "Igor Sikorsky: The Story of the Winged's," chronicles the aviation pioneer's early dreams of flight inspired by his father, a professor of science, and follows young Igor's experiments with explosives that nearly destroy his family home.
