“Code of Honor!”

From the cover tagline "He Shares His Saddle With Danger!" to the blazing pistol in his hand, this 1957 Atlas Comics entry puts the Rawhide Kid front and center in a gripping shootout scene. The blond, red-scarfed Kid is crouched low, firing his revolver — muzzle flash and all — while two gunmen on a wooden structure trade shots in the background, capturing all the tension of the Old West in a single image. Joe Maneely's cover art is sharp and energetic, and with Dick Ayers bringing "Code of Honor!" to life inside, this is a fine example of mid-1950s Western comics firing on all cylinders.
