Raven: Daughter of Darkness #2

Issue two of this 12-part DC miniseries drops Raven into a fiery confrontation that the cover makes viscerally clear: hooded and resolute, she channels a glowing pink sphere of dark energy against a towering, antlered demon that looms over her with bared fangs and outstretched claws. Yanick Paquette's cover crackles with that sense of a small but defiant figure refusing to be overwhelmed by something far larger and more monstrous. With Marv Wolfman writing and Pop Mhan and Lovern Kindzierski bringing the visuals to life inside, "A Look of Fear" looks like a compelling chapter in Raven's ongoing struggle against the darkness that defines her.
