Priscilla Petraites and colorist Marco Lesko deliver a breathtaking cover for this 2019 Image series, depicting a winged fairy figure with vivid pink wings diving through dark, bubble-filled water to reach a pale, limp figure drifting below. The sense of urgency and otherworldly beauty in that deep-sea rescue scene captures exactly why Rat Queens continues to stand apart — equal parts fantastical and emotionally charged. Ryan Ferrier and Kurtis J. Wiebe bring their storytelling chops to issue #17, and if this striking cover is any indication, the Queens are in for another wildly unconventional adventure.
