Range Rider battles two gunmen to protect an important letter that is dropped during the fight. A character named Dick retrieves the letter and brings it to Range Rider, who then pursues the fleeing gunmen on horseback. The next day, a young man named Johnny attempts to break a wild black stallion, determined to prove himself despite warnings that the horse is dangerous and will kill him. Range Rider and others work to stop Johnny from riding the untamed animal, ultimately saving his life. The story concludes with Range Rider being thanked and receiving sketches from artist Jonathan Banes as tokens of appreciation for his bravery and help in saving Johnny's life.
