The second volume of Lewis Trondheim's Ralph Azham series arrives with the evocative title "La mort au début du chemin" — and the cover sets a wonderfully adventurous tone. Trondheim's artwork places a white rabbit-like hero leaping across rocky cliffs alongside a hulking grey companion and a small wolf-like creature, while a menacing masked figure in a red cape floats ominously above against a pale sky dotted with circling birds. It's a charming yet foreboding scene that perfectly captures the blend of whimsy and danger Dupuis brought to readers in 2011.
