“Chapter One: Killer Instinct”

In "Chapter One: Killer Instinct," Quicksilver is pulled into a high-stakes mission with the Knights of the Holy Order, led by the enigmatic Arkon, as they race to stop a desperate priest's plan to doom Earth in a bid to save his own world. Written by Tom Peyer and illustrated by Tom Lyle—with inks by Scott Hanna and Hector Collazo, colors by Paul Becton, and lettering by Comicraft, AD, and RS—this 1998 issue delivers a tense, character-driven arc that reunites Quicksilver with his estranged wife, Crystal, just as the journey back to Earth begins. The cover, penciled by Tom Lyle and inked by Robert Jones, captures the moment’s intensity.
