Scott Kurtz's gaming-culture comedy series gets a delightful fantasy makeover in this 2003 Image Comics issue, with cover art by Frank Cho channeling full-on sword-and-sorcery romance. The cover spotlights a Viking-helmeted hero sweeping a red-haired woman off her feet beneath a glowing moon, while a goggle-wearing goblin crouches at their feet alongside a skull and a small treasure chest — the whole tableau cheekily billed as "The Lord of the Schwing!" It's a warm, funny send-up of epic fantasy heroics that captures exactly the playful spirit PvP does so well.
