The finale of Sean Murphy's six-issue Vertigo series arrives with a cover that says everything without saying a word: a mohawked punk figure in a studded leather jacket stands arms outstretched in a crucifix pose, microphone cord dangling from one hand, the series title blazing above and "Jesus" dripping below in bold graffiti lettering. Murphy's sharp, kinetic linework — carrying the full series through writing, art, and inks — gives this closing chapter an image that's equal parts provocation and spectacle. A fitting send-off for one of Vertigo's most audacious 2013 offerings.
