Prophet #33

Prophet's 2013 run at Image continues to deliver alien vistas unlike anything else on the stands, and issue #33 is a striking example. The cover by Fil Barlow presents a breathtaking upward view of a colossal, otherworldly tree-like organism — its massive, tendril-like branches glowing with bioluminescent teal light — while a spiky, crystalline entity drifts ominously through a dusky, star-touched sky above. It's a genuinely arresting image that captures exactly why this Brandon Graham and Giannis Milonogiannis series, colored here by Joseph Bergin III, feels so refreshingly strange and ambitious.
