Prophecy #2
Against a blood-red sky and the looming silhouette of an ancient Mesoamerican pyramid, Paul Renaud's cover for Prophecy #2 sets a striking scene: a pale, dark-haired vampire figure stands dominant while Red Sonja kneels at his side, gripping her sword, and another red-haired warrior woman lies sprawled across the rocks below — bats swirling through the fiery dusk all around them. Ron Marz and Walter Geovani's 2012 Dynamite crossover series is clearly leaning hard into its end-of-the-Mayan-calendar apocalyptic premise, mixing sword-and-sorcery with supernatural menace. If the ominous mood of this cover is any indication, Book Two is not letting up on the tension.
