Prometheus #18

The submerged Statue of Liberty — tilted, half-buried, and eerily lit in deep oceanic blue — makes for a haunting cover image in Prometheus Band 18, "Die Sandkorntheorie," from Splitter Verlag. Christophe Bec and Jean Diaz craft a vision of civilizational catastrophe rendered in cool, unsettling silence, with what appears to be a vessel and structural wreckage looming above the drowned monument. This 2019 German-language entry in the series promises the kind of grand-scale, eerie science fiction that the Prometheus saga does so well.
