Promethea #1
"La Radiante Ciudad Celestial" introduces a haunting, dreamlike journey where Sophie, a writer seeking answers about the enigmatic Promethea, finds herself caught in a surreal conflict when a Smee attacks her. With help from the mysterious Barbara Shelley—herself a vessel of the cosmic entity Promethea—Sophie must write her way into salvation, weaving a poem that transforms her into the legendary figure just in time to face the threat. The story unfolds through a layered narrative that traces the origins of Promethea back to a girl in ancient Alexandria, all rendered in the stunning, otherworldly style of J. H. Williams III, with inks by Mick Gray and colors by Digital Chameleon, while Alex Ross delivers a breathtaking cover.
