Predator vs. Spider-Man #4

The issue closes the four-issue miniseries while simultaneously planting the seeds for the follow-up event Predator Kills the Marvel Universe, making it a genuine narrative hinge point in a growing shared mythology between two pop-culture franchises. Its most consequential story beat — Dr. Abraham Cornelius (the Weapon X scientist historically responsible for bonding adamantium to Wolverine) taking possession of a captured Yautja for experimentation — directly sets up the creation of "Predator X" in the subsequent series, threading the Weapon X legacy into Yautja lore in a meaningful way. The issue also gives Kraven the Hunter what amounts to the most alien form of validation in his history: surviving a confrontation with the Yautja hunting party and being invited aboard their ship as a recognized peer.

Predator vs. Spider-Man was announced following the conclusion of Predator vs. Black Panther (2024), itself a sequel to Predator vs. Wolverine (2023) — Percy's first Marvel/Predator crossover, which Marvel positioned as the debut of the Predator franchise in the Marvel Universe following Disney's acquisition of 20th Century Fox. Percy and artist Marcelo Ferreira were paired for this third leg of the trilogy, with Percy publicly describing his desire to explore Spider-Man's supporting cast — specifically MJ, J. Jonah Jameson, and Kraven — within the alien-horror framework. The series ran April 23 to July 16, 2025, was colored by Frank D'Armata, lettered by VC's Clayton Cowles, and edited by Lindsey Cohick, Martin Biro, and Sarah Brunstad; cover art for the main covers was provided by Paulo Siqueira with Yen Nitro.
Trivia · 8 facts
- Published July 16, 2025 (cover-dated September 2025) by Marvel Comics / 20th Century Studios; the fourth and final issue of a four-issue limited series running April–July 2025.
- Written by Benjamin Percy, penciled by Marcelo Ferreira, inked by Jay Leisten, colored by Frank D'Armata, lettered by VC's Clayton Cowles; main cover by Paulo Siqueira and Yen Nitro.
- The issue resolves the Skinner arc: Kraven the Hunter defeats the rogue Yautja known as Skinner in single combat, after which the Yautja hunting party acknowledges Kraven's skill, marks him, and invites him aboard their ship — a narrative beat framing Kraven as an honored peer of the galaxy's apex hunters.
- Spider-Man disposes of Skinner's activated self-destruct wristband by throwing it into the Hudson River, saving New York City — his decisive heroic act in the finale despite playing no direct role in Skinner's defeat.
- Dr. Abraham Cornelius — the Weapon X scientist responsible for the adamantium bonding process used on Wolverine — appears in the final pages taking custody of a surviving Yautja for experimentation, directly establishing the "Predator X" plot thread carried into Predator Kills the Marvel Universe.
- The issue includes a back-matter promotional article for Predator Kills the Marvel Universe #1 (August 2025), underscoring the issue's explicit function as a bridge chapter in Percy's larger crossover saga.
- The full four-issue series was collected in a trade paperback released by Marvel Comics on September 30, 2025.
- Predator vs. Spider-Man is the third chapter in Percy's interconnected trilogy (after Predator vs. Wolverine, 2023, and Predator vs. Black Panther, 2024), which culminates in the five-issue Predator Kills the Marvel Universe event series also illustrated by Ferreira.
