Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon's Preacher barrels into "Naked City Part 1 of 3" with a cover by Glenn Fabry that's hard to look away from — a grotesquely weathered, battered face shown upside-down, a pair of hands pressing down on it with unsettling force against a stark blue background. Published in 1995 under DC's Vertigo imprint, this issue announces itself with the kind of visceral, uncomfortable imagery that made Preacher one of the most talked-about series of its era. If Fabry's cover is any indication, the story inside isn't pulling any punches.
